Seagate Cheetah 3.5-inch 73.4GB SCSI SAS Internal Hard Drive ST373455SS

The Cheetah 15K.5 is mainstream enterprise disc drive storage. It is the best price/performance, lowest cost of ownership, 3.5-inch disc drive, with the industry’s highest 3.5″ disc drive reliability.

15K RPM spindle speed
Delivers more I/O’s per second and faster sustained transfer rates than 10K 3.5-inch drvies, enabling the same high performance to be met with fewer drives.

Background Media Scan (BMS)
Second generation Seagate-exclusive BMS proactively scans the media for potential defects during drive idle time. It enables incipient errors to be corrected before data is lost.

Perpendicular Recording
Perpendicular recording is fundamentally superior, enabling the highest areal density with 30 percent higher performance.

Nonrecoverable Error Rate
The nonrecoverable error rate has been improved by a factor of 10.

Idle Read After Write (IRAW)
Seagate-exclusive IRAW enhances data protection by verifying-during drive idle time-that data in the drive buffer was properly written.
